CUSTOMER SERVICE

Congratulations!

We are very excited to be announcing the winners of our 2018-2019 Unitil Scholarship Fund program. We have awarded the scholarship money to students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering or math that live and attend school in one of our company’s service territories in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Each recipient will receive $5,000 toward their first year of undergraduate study.

All of the students were required to submit a packet of information including an application, high school transcript, written essay and a teacher recommendation to be considered for one of our scholarships. All of the applications were reviewed in each of our service territories by a committee of Unitil employees.

The students receiving our scholarships are listed below:

From left to right: Kathleen Jenkins, Joseph Gyorda, Carolina DiCampo, Kegan Hatfield and Faeza Sheikh-Kassim

Kathleen Jenkins of Bow, New Hampshire, a graduate of Bow High School. Kathleen plans to study Biology and Health Sciences at Gettysburg College.

Joseph Gyorda of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, a graduate of Winnacunnet High School. Joseph plans on studying Mathematical Data Science at Dartmouth College.

Carolina DiCampo of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, a graduate of Sizer School. Carolina plans to study Architecture at Norwich University.

Kegan Hatfield of Dover, New Hampshire, a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Kegan plans to study Bio-technology at Gordon College.

Faeza Sheikh-Kassim of Lewiston, Maine, a graduate of Lewiston High School. Faeza plans to study Biology at the University of Southern Maine.

Also as part of the program, a sixth student who is the child of a Unitil employee was also awarded a scholarship. Facundo Mieres Sosa of Fitchburg, MA, a graduate of Fitchburg High School, was selected to receive this year’s employee scholarship. Facundo plans to study Business and Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

We would like to say thank you to all of the employees that served on the Unitil Scholarship Committees. Of the many applications we received, each one was from a top-notch student and made the decision process very challenging.

We are very proud to support the next generation of STEM scholars and strongly believe in the importance of STEM education. It is our hope that the Unitil Scholarship Fund will help these talented students achieve their academic goals.

The Unitil Scholarship Fund makes such awards annually and we are very proud to support students in their efforts to further their education. We would like to extend a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to all of our winners and we wish them the best for an enjoyable and productive year at school!

The Unitil Scholarship Fund joins the existing Peter J. Stulgis Scholarship Fund for students from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH.

We are open to unique opportunities to support new educational initiatives as well, and we welcome solicitations. Be sure to check back (after January 1, 2019) for next year’s application and deadline details.
